Bike Darlington - The Darlington Cycling Campaign blog

Bike Darlington is the blog of the Darlington Cycling Campaign. We are currently actively campaigning for a 20mph speed limit for the town and to ensure cycling continues to be allowed in the Pedestrian Heart.

Bonkers Bike Lanes in Gateshead

A one metre wide bike lane on the pavement outside a college, when the road is traffic-calmed with a 20 MPH speed limit, seems a bit bonkers.

Karl has posted a video of an accident he almost had on the bike path, in the hopes that Nick Clennett, the Council’s Head of Transportation and Highways, will see what sort of problems the “safety” features he's allowed to be put in can cause, and will consider changing them.
