Nasty interface design. Grrr!

Haven't read the linked page but I heard that the bill was unlikely to make it through to law due to one of those arcane House of Commons rules such as 'lack of parliamentary time'.

"Do you wear a helmet while riding your bike?"
Not yet but I plan to buy one in the next week or so.

"Do you support this bill?"
No. There has been quite of bit of material bounded around about this but I have no links at the moment. However, I believe that countering arguments have ranged from 'the disuasion to young people to ride a bike would lead to greater ill health through lack of exercise than that which is currently (but debatably) inflicted through not wearing a helmet', 'riding with a helmet induces a false sense of safety and has been shown to increase risk taking' and 'a helmet is unlikely to help significantly if you are hit by a road vehicle at speed'. Reminds me of this article: Polystyrene: the wonder material that can deflect speeding juggernauts

"Would you support extending the bill to cover all cyclists?"
No. Education of the benefits of cycle helmets in conjunction with road safety advice and free training where desired plus road improvement schemes and dedicated cycle routes would be more effective IMHO.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17722580703235194607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6928835.post-1086867719154965382004-06-10T12:41:00.000+01:002004-06-10T12:41:00.000+01:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17722580703235194607noreply@blogger.com
